In one of my project groups, we realized that many teachers struggled with organizing and storing professional development items, so we decided to create an eportfolio resource. As we continued to dig deeper, we identified that two parts of the problem was the disparate process that many used, and the lack of a tool to help with organization and reflection. We developed the Professional Learning Platform Road Map as a step-by-step guide to help teachers be more intentional with their process. Our guide applies ideas from Dr. Puentedura’s SAMR model, Bates’ 2014 SECTIONS framework, and the Design Thinking model (proposed by the Hasso-Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford) to eportfolio tool selection, so that teachers can be more successful with their eportfolio creation and maintenance.
